Director Shankar apologised to press people yesterday, after the crew members of Superstar Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar staring 2.0, attacked two photo journalists during the shoot. The team has indulged in shooting at Triplicane on Wednesday morning during peak hours, and to facilitate shoot, they blocked an important intersection.
S R Raghunathan and Sri Barath, who were the residents of the area, asked the crew members why they have blocked the intersection at this hour of time, they were attacked by them. “When we asked if it was proper to inconvenience public by blocking roads especially during (morning) peak hour, two crew members used foul language against us and we were beaten up,” Raghunathan, who works for a Engligh daily said.
It is said that the permission for the shoot was given at night and they have manipulated the time based on their convenience. A police complaint has been lodged by them, which was withdrawn after Shankar apology.
The 2.0 team arranged a press meet following the incident to end the row. Shankar talking to media told that, “I always ensured that my film shoots never paralysed normal life of people. But this incident is an exception. I will make sure that such acts by the film crew will not happen in future.”
